I forgot that I started a blog.

Well, it is seven years later and I have long forgotten about this blog.

I do find myself with more time now though so maybe it is time to dust off a guitar and make another video?

This is one of Anicthade's songs in the making. It's very very rough, the drums suck, I can't work a snare drum apparently, and it's pretty empty sounding with just a single guitar and drums. The last like 30 seconds it was kind of starting to fall apart, I dropped a stick but managed to recover then I lost time then I got back then he ended without me knowing it was coming :P. Hopefully tomorrow we can add a bass and some vocals. We have all the vocals written, just need the singer to come over.

Wincing the Night Away

The new Shins album came in the mail the other day. I've listened to it a few times. It's not really as great as I expected, but it's still awesomely good. Quite a bit of FX going on, not as much of the traditional instruments, but it was done in a fashion that I seem to like. 4/5 Stars ****

Package deal

I just spent alot of money on a package deal. Some guy is moving to Washington state from here, Maine. He said he had to sell all his music equipment because he couldn't bring it with him, and that it had to all go as one. So, I just acquired:

a dark purple Ibanez Gio guitar
a black Ibanez Gio bass
an Ashdown 15w bass amp
a Peavey 10w guitar amp
a Yamaha 76-key keyboard
2 Pro Studio 5 foot tall speaker cabs
a Tama Rockstar drumset with extra heads and mutes
cables, books, stands, etc

I'm keeping the Ibanez bass and selling my old one. I'm probably seling the Ibanez guitar, as I don't need it. Keeping the ashdown, selling the peavey. My mom is buying the Yamaha off me. Keeping the speakers, keeping the drums. I will probably eventually sell my old drum set but right now I'm keeping it. I currently have both sets set up together as one, in a setup like this:

My first time using double bass, and boy it's harder than I thought lol. Gunna practice a ton and get my left leg up to where my right leg is with the pedal work.

WEASEL!!

So yea, this weasel we found in my wall. I was hearing noises, and so I thought there was a mouse stuck in there. Then we cut a hole, and a white nose poked out and screached! We thought it was a albino mouse.. then a chipmunk.. then it started to come out and into the jar we had ready. And it never stopped coming out! It was a weasel lol! It's winter so it has it's white coat on. We are re-releasing it right now a few miles away (this little sucker likes to eat our chickens)

UPDATE: He is now released! When we released him, the first thing he did was dive under the snow. He came back up chasing a red squirrel out of it's bed! that didn't take too long now did it? such a weasel.

Thing I Just Made Up

Late night jam session, made this little thing up pretty much while I was recording it. I had the basic thing I started playing already in my head before recording, but that was it. A few mess ups, but nothing major.

College

Started the new semester today! Just College Writing and College Algebra this time, but it's gunna be hard. Monday - Wednesday, 2pm to 5pm.

The Shins

The indie band The Shins are one of my newest favorite bands. I pre-ordered their new CD, thats how much I like them. They are softer than what I usually listen to, and at first the vocalist is a little annoying, but after you listen to a whole song of theirs, the annoyance dissapears. Their lyrics are genius, and they seem to love using acoustic guitars. I highly recommend everyone out there to at least listen to a few songs of theirs. My recommendations - Young Pilgrams, Sleeping Lessons, Kissing the Lipless, and Caring is Creepy. What are ye still reading fer? Go lizzen! (But then come back and keep reading!)

Drums

So I set up my drum set the other day. I am now very sore from playing practically non-stop since. I'm in no way a good or talented drummer, I just have a ton of fun playing. You'll probably see some clips up on here of me playing guitar over a recorded drum beat of mine though.

I got a new guitar

I bought a Ibanez Acoustic Electric while I was at Guitar Center. It's really nice, and it plays quite well through my Line 6 2x10 amp. It's this model, http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ibanez-AEG10E-AcousticElectric-Guitar-?sku=519982 except in black. *goes to play with it*

Merry Christmas!

I totally missed posting a post on a Christmas, unless 1:45 AM counts as still the same day. So, Merry Belated Christmas! I just ordered Need for Speed: Carbon, a new guitar stand, and the Spinal Tap DVD. Tomorrow I'm going to get a couple things too, but on Wednesday I'm going shopping with quite a bit of cash on hand :) Again, Merry Christmas!

Anicthade

Time to tell you about Anicthade. It is my band in the making that has been in the making for quite some time. We have several songs in the works. You can check out a few things about it at www.myspace.com/anicthade we have a few short clips up on there.

The name

I figure if anyone ever reads this blog and watches my older videos, they will wonder why they say "by Injulen" all over them. Well, Injulen is my gaming name that I have used as my persona online for a very very long time. So if you see Injulen, it means me

Hells Bells

This is an old video of me playing Hells Bells by AC/DC. This is back when I had long hair! Speaking of my hair, I now have short hair. I plan on growing it back out, but I may decide to keep it short. It's a helluva lot easier to take care of when it is short.

First post

Hey. I haven't fully decided what I'm going to put on this blog, but this is the first post. I'll probably post a bunch of videos of me playing guitar on here. Maybe the occasional rant. Who knows. We shall see.
